Blue Jays Series Recap – Bats Awaken, Take Two From Texas

The Toronto Blue Jays took two of three from the team most experts claim is the best in baseball.  The bats woke up and woke up in a big way with 2012 kingpin Edwin Encarnacion going yard for the fifth time in six games.  Jose Bautista had a huge homerun in the second game versus Neftali Feliz and Brett Lawrie had a walk-off jack in the same game the Jays came back from a 5-0 deficit.

It probably took a lot of the weight off the two as both have high expectations of themselves though neither have played as well as hoped.  As for Encarnacion things couldn’t be going better, going into this afternoon’s game he was slashing 322/381/667 with 8 homeruns.

The Jays scored twenty runs in this series, and hope to keep the bats hot heading into a road trip starting in Los Angeles.  The only game they lost was due to a brilliant performance by Japanese phenom Yu Darvish who gave Jays fans a glimpse of what could have been.

Here are the boxscores.

Game 1 – Texas 4, Toronto 1

Game 2 – Toronto 8, Texas 7

Game 3 – Toronto 11, Texas 5
