Blue Jays Series Recap – Splitting With The Angels

The Toronto Blue Jays had a chance to take three of four but had to settle for the split in a four game series versus the Los Angeles Angels.  They won on aggregate runs (14-10) as they started the series with back-to-back complete game shutouts (Brandon Morrow and Henderson Alvarez).

Albert Pujols broke a ridiculously long homerun drought with his first of the season in the fourth game of the series.  Drew Hutchison continues to give up hits and will be a pitcher who relies on getting quality defense at the major league level for any sustained success.

Eric Thames had a chance to make a big catch in left field during yesterday’s fourth game of the series but failed to bring it in, the play ended up being big as the Angels went on to score a couple runs.

Here are the game boxscores, click the score for more details:

Game 1 – Blue Jays 5, Angels 0 – Brandon Morrow 3-hits Angels for CG SHO.

Game 2 – Blue Jays 4, Angels 0 – Henderson Alvarez CG SHO.

Game 3 – Angels 6, Blue Jays 2 – CJ Wilson pitches Angels past Jays.

Game 4 – Angels 4, Blue Jays 3 – Albert Pujols hits first homerun of season.

Next up are the Oakland A’s (15-14, W2, 6-4 L10, 6-7 home), a two game set in Oakland.
