Blue Jays Series Recap – Split With the Twins

A tight four game series split versus the Minnesota Twins saw the final three games decided by one run each.  The Blue Jays had a good chance to take three of four but couldn’t get the timely hit needed to pull off a late inning comeback Friday or Sunday.

Some definite positives with Jose Bautista showing some signs of life as he went yard three times in the series.  Henderson Alvarez and Drew Hutchison pitched very well and the bullpen was pretty solid overall.

Let’s recap the series: (includes link to boxscore)

Game 1 – Blue Jays 6, Twins 2 – Henderson Alvarez impresses again.

Game 2 – Twins 7, Blue Jays 6 – Jose Bautista goes yard twice in a losing effort.

Game 3 – Blue Jays 2, Twins 1 – Jose Bautista with the go-ahead homerun, his third in two games.

Game 4 – Twins 4, Blue Jays 3 – Ricky Romero struggled with command, walking 5 and striking out none.

Up next: A tough two game series starts versus the AL East leading Tampa Bay Rays.  This series is followed by a quick midweek two game set versus the New York Yankees prior to inter-league play.
