Jays Acquire Jeremy Jeffress

It’s already been a busy day for Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos, and it’s only 10:28 am in Indian Wells, where the GM Meetings are taking place.  mlbtraderumors is reporting that the

Blue Jays have acquired Jeremy Jeffress from the Royals according to his agent, reports Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com.

Jeffess, you may recall, was sent to Kansas City as part of the Zack Greinke trade.  I think many (most?) Jays fans think that TOR has acquired the wrong piece from that trade.  Jeffress is a serviceable piece who offers the Jays enviable depth either in the ‘pen or in AAA Buffalo.

He used to be a highly touted prospect. Lightning in a bottle perhaps?
