In the bottom of the second inning Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher JA Happ took a comeback line drive off the bat of Desmond Jennings off the head. He was stunned, grabbed his face and went down instantly. The medical crew rushed to his aid and after quite a few minutes was taken off the field via stretcher. At last replay it appeared it may have struck him near the left eye or temple.
Our thoughts go out to him and his family. No word on how seriously injured he might be. Stay tuned for more details as they are learned.
UPDATE: Happ did wave to the fans on his way out of the stadium and was clearly conscious on the field. He has been taken to a local hospital.
UPDATE: 10:49pm – No further news has been released on JA Happ other than the hospital continues to run various tests on him.
