First off another Happy Mother’s day goes out to all the Mama’s out there!
Mark Buerhle may have turned around not only his fortunes but the entire Blue Jays team. He was crisp in seven strong innings versus the Red Sox on Saturday and Adam Lind picked up Darren Oliver with a go-ahead solo home run as the Blue Jays won a tough 3-2 ballgame.
Chad Jenkins was solid on Sunday and the Blue Jays hammered Ryan Dempster and the BoSox pitching staff. Jose Bautista is heating up and cracked two homers for the Jays. It was nice to give the bullpen a bit of a breather Saturday and Sunday.
The Blue Jays didn’t make up any ground on the AL East leaders but are chipping away at the rest of the division. This was a huge series victory and a decent road trip altogether.

Wes also wrote a great piece on the aftermath of the JA Happ injury. Is it time MLB mandated protective headgear for pitchers? An interesting take.
