Blue Jays Series Recap – Jays Take 2/3 From Twinkies

The Blue Jays needed a sweep versus the Minnesota Twins in my opinion.  There is no more room to give away games against such an inferior team but unfortunately RA Dickey did not bring his A-game (again) and the Blue Jays squandered an early bases loaded rally to lose game two of the series.  The Jays took care of business in game one and two but if they hope to make a late run to the postseason these are the series that must be swept.

CURRENT RECORD: 43-45, 5th place, 10.0 games out of first place, 6.0 games out of wild card (-6 run differential)

Is Adam Lind’s 2013 resurgence for real?  Read my piece here.

Here are the quick recaps and boxscores: (click on game scores for the Yahoo! boxscore)

Game 1 – Blue Jays 4, Twins 0 – Bautista hits #20 and Buehrle solid once again.

Game 2 – Twins 6, Blue Jays 0 – RA Dickey struggles with lousy hitting Twins, six earned.

Game 3 – Blue Jays 11, Twins 5 – Todd Redmond picks up win as bats come alive.

UP NEXT: Off day Monday and then the Blue Jays travel to Cleveland to play the Indians for a mid-week three game set (46-42, +16 run differential, 6-4 L10).
